stop me dead in my tracks with only just one look
and when it comes to you and me, girl
Ooh you turn me inside out
I’m still in love with you today

2. YOU MAKE ME HAPPY/ Still Standing TV Theme
Will Hoge
‘One of the Still Standing producers, Dianne Burroughs, wanted a song that had a ‘midwest eighties’ feel to it along the lines of John Mellancamp. Fox Nettwerk sent me a copy of the pilot and script, and with that I was able to sit down and write the theme to the show. Fortunately Dianne loved it, she wanted a full length version of the song even though she knew it was going to have to be edited down to about twenty seconds, which is why I have both a short, edited TV version and a four minute one.
When it came to finding an artist, the network didn’t have the budget to get a big name artist (something they always complain about), but they had a demo of several up and coming bands and they asked me who I thought would be the best artist for the song. I liked Will Hoge’s voice, so they arranged for me to fly down to Nashville to produce the song. I was so thrilled with the way it came out and the band was cool, they played their asses off and made it sound like they had been playing that song for years, when in fact we had one rehearsal and then recorded it the next day.
The show is now in syndication after a successful five year run, and I can’t tell you how many hundreds of fans have written me and asked me where they can find a copy of the full length version. Fox never released the song on a soundtrack of any kind to my knowledge, and since they owned the publishing they wouldn’t allow me to release it, so if you want to hear the full 3:00 minute version, this site is one of the few places where you can do that.’ – HK
